Lamisil Tablets

Lamisil is a powerful, prescription only anti-fungal drug used to treat nail fungus. It is an oral tablet, which circulates throughout the body and kills the fungus where it lives, under the nail bed. Lamisil has been prescribed to 14 million people in the Unites States alone. This makes it by far the best selling prescription treatment to treat fungal nail infections.

The oral tablet version of Lamisil has generally shown to be much more effective than topical treatments for treating mild to severe cases of nail disease. It is also more likely to cure nail fungus. With topical treatments, the infection frequently returns once you stop using them. In most cases, however, topical treatments can effectively treat an early-stage case of nail infection.

Lamisil Side Effects

People who have kidney or liver problems should not take Lamisil. Your doctor will probably do a test to check for potential problems before writing you a prescription. This medication has caused severe liver problems in rare cases. It has also caused serious skin reactions, but these are also rare. These side effects are rare, but are potentially life-threatening, so be sure to discuss any health problems with your doctor if you are considering a prescription. Other possible side effects are not as serious, and include indigestion, headache, diarrhea, and skin rash.
